このブログの記事珍しいです. It's going to be about a day in the life of a kogyaru. I'll split it into two parts : part 1- 2013 and part two- 1990s.
6:00- wake up and take shower, do hair and  make
7:00- meet friends and wait for train to school
we call the rest of the group and decide to skip school
during the train, we talk, text and do our make-up as well
8:30-we get to school , wait for the boys and leave for Buya or Shinjuku.
10:00- 17:00- with friends, we go to arcades, McDonald's, go shopping and sit in the streets to talk.
18:00- go home and eat
19:00- me and friends get ready, do our hair and chose outfits. While we do that, we tend to       read   magazines and listen to tv.
21:00- go out in shinjuku or akihabara and find people to chill with
22:00- 0:00 party at club
1:00- go home and sleep
next morning: redo

Gyaru Luxury Brands+ New Louboutins

I haven't really made any articles in a while (mostly because of school) so in this post we will enter the amazing world of luxury brands.
In gyaru, the brands mostly used are Louis Vuitton, Burberry and Christian Louboutin.
I recently went and bought these babies( image up top).
Yes!!!!! finally my first pair of Louboutins!!!!!!!! OMG age!!!
Now, back to the subject. Louis Vuitton has a long history with gal, starting from kogal. Young privileged kogyaru would go and buy these expensive bags by either using their parents money or doing enjo kosai. This to them meant social class and made the other, younger gals respect and look up to them. As for Burberry, the scarves were also worn by kogal for the same reasons. Nowadays, they're actually out of style (should be avoided!!!). A considerable new brand for gyaru is Louboutin. Sported by onee gyaru ( usually) because a pair of these are about 1,200$   (╥_╥) but trust me, they're worth it!
I know this isquite short but I'm planinga better, longer and researched article so make sure to follow me!! Bye bye gals!!

Gyaru Heritage: Buriteri (○゜ε^○)

Gyaru would have never been what it is today without Buriteri. She was the queen of gal and the inspiration for the modern styles. Her name, originating from the jet black soy sauce used on yellow tail fish, caught everyone's attention.

In 1999, rumor had it that in the underground life of Shibuya, a girl had created her own insane and original style. Egg magazine immediately started searching for her. Buriteri was found in club Pylon, in Shibuya. She was wearing gigantic platform boots that made her stand 6 feet tall! Compared to most japanese girls, that's enormous!

Buriteri actually revolutionized gyaru make-up. Girls were getting darker and darker so foundation was getting too light for there skin. Thanks to her, gals started using max factor NW 55, foundation intended for a black woman.

The magazine started using her pictures in photo spreads, calling her a fashion revolution of the new millennium. She was often seen with a group of 3 followers, including Yuka Mizuno., who was friends with her from before. This is what she had to say :
"After we first became friends, we used to meet in front of First Kitchen on Center Street. We'd just stand around and watch people go by, sometimes for as long as 20 hours at a time. Eventually, we decided to put a mat on the ground and sit down. We never noticed that everyone was scared of use because of the way we look. We were too busy trading beauty secrets."

Buriteri never showed her face without make. " Even at a sleepover the only thing she would take off is her eyelashes. After taking a shower, she would spend 2 to 3 hours in the bathroom doing her makeup. We would bang on the door if we had  to go pee. She would always shout back that she was too embarrassed and shy to show her real face." She was actually a really shy person.

Later on, Buriteri became a spokes model for Blackies tanning salon. She was last seen woring at a clothing store. She  was so different! Her skin turned from black to snow white!

Gal Styles (●⌒∇⌒●) Kogal Generation

Heyoooooooooo  ☆*:.。. o(≧▽≦)o .。.:*☆
Today, I'll present part 1 of gyaru styles. So without delay, here we go.

Kogal

first wave of  kogals

Modern version

Kogyaru started in the 1990s when young japanese highschool girls started bleached there hair (chapatsu), tanning, wearing heavy makeup, shortening there school uniforms and wearing loose socks. People believe they were inspired by Namie Amuro, a very popular singer and Californian girls. Actually, original kogals were rich, bored teen girls who wanted to rebel against the japanese way of thinking about women. The core of the style was hanging out with friends and living in the moment, not caring about other people's thoughts about you. This eventually evolved to the ganguro slogan " Get wild ! Be sexy!''
Mostly seen wearing there seifuku even while hanging out in Shibuya, they also wore high platform boots, colorful miniskirts, camisoles and designer accessories. Burberry scarves and Louis Vuitton purses are popular in this style. There make consists of white concealer around the eyes and on the lips.Thick eyeliner, false lashes, dark foundation and lip gloss are also included. The hair was usually long, bleached  and straight.
Kogyaru used there hand phones and decorated them with huge phone charmes and puri pictures. They were known for being very materialistic and vain. People also thought they did enjo kosai even though most of them are too proud and would never do so.As you might have guessed, the style has evolved and most kogals nowadays don't wear white makeup and wear fashionable clothing.
Still, egg magazine remains essential to the style.
